Travel Forks Dinner

One night was not enough!!! El Pretexto is pleased to join with Chef's Dinner Series to present the a second night of TRAVEL FORKS!
Our visiting chef from Portland Oregon, Chef Carl Krause, is a CIA graduate who apprenticed under James Beard Award winner Barbara Lynch and went on to make his mark at major restaurants in Portland. He is currently Executive Chef at the exclusive Minam River Lodge where celebrities hide away in a deluxe mountain lodge and dine on world-class meals prepared by Chef Carl. He will join Chef Natalia Vallejo, a true Culinary Artist with a world-traveling background that has taken her to the far corners of the Earth; from “Puerta Cerrada” dinners in Argentina and Chile to the grand kitchens of Spain. Always conscious of her Puerto Rican roots, she also studied under the Grandmaster of refined Puerto Rican cuisine, the legendary Alfredo Ayala. Most recently, she cooked at the James Beard House last November and is about to open her own restaurant: cocina al fondo, inside of the cultural space named :Pública. They have designed a menu with the freshest local products in mind.
